Meet Jenny Lockwood, orignially of Yorkshire, England. Here’s part of her bio from the Equine Research Network. “After completing an BSc in Psychology at The University of Edinburgh I moved to Texas to work for an organization called The Horse Boy Foundation. The Horse Boy Foundation was set up by Rupert Isaacson, a writer and human rights activist whose son Rowan was diagnosed with autism. He soon discovered that Rowan had a special bond with horses and that being around them and riding them helped him to communicate. The Horse Boy Methodâ„¢ is the systemization of these techniques which are now used at camps and centres across North America and Europe. I joined the organization in 2009 and now run their education program. In collaboration with Rupert I am also developing a way for people to work with children with autism without horses based around the principles of kinetic learning and intrinsic motivation.”
